Sportsman of the Year

I noticed on Uncle Jack’s blog that Sports Illustrated is taking a fan poll for Sportsman of the Year. On the ballot is Pat Tillman, an Army Ranger that walked away from a $3.6 million contract to join the Army with his brother. Pat was killed in Afghanistan on April 22. He’s currently running third behind Michael Phelps and Lance Armstrong. While I’m a huge fan of Armstrong, can there really be a better selection for this award that Pat Tillman?

Make your voice heard. Head over to SI and vote today.

  1. Michael Phelps is still in the running? Dude, he got busted for DUI a week ago.Let’s see. Underage swimming star arrested for driving drunk vs. guy who first passes up millions from good team (Rams) to stay loyal to crappy team (Cardinals), and then passes that up to serve his country, for which he dies. Oh yeah, Michael Phelps is the obvious choice.*eyeroll*

  2. I would have to agree 100% with you on that.

    Tillman gets my vote.

  4. Damn straight he deserves it! Not only Sportsman of the Year, but Patriot of the Year! I’ve blogged my opinion on this and am urging others to go vote as I did, but thanks for pointing this article out.
